Our HillBilly Hiking grassroots back-to-basics initiative and thinking has a brief but impactful history. We believe in the mental state achieved by focusing on the present moment, calmly acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations in the beautiful natural surroundings of Fraserwood, Manitoba, Canada. Our HillBilly Guide & Journal can help slow down thoughts, recognize the sensations in our bodies, and ultimately guide us towards noticing patterns. Journaling is not just about writing. Its about recording. Recording can be done in many different ways. Pick one that works for you. It could be doodling, sketching, painting, collaging, finger/paw prints, photographs.

Journaling Workshops

Join our workshops to learn the art of journaling and how to incorporate it into your daily routine for mental and emotional exploration.  Learn the art of journaling as a tool for self-reflection, gratitude, and personal growth while surrounded by the serene beauty of nature found in the loving energy of the HillBilly Resort.

 

The Wellness journal is a personal record-keeping tool that can help individuals track their physical, spiritual, emotional,  and overall life journey. It is a simple yet effective way to stay on top of one's journey forward.

Keeping a journal can help individuals identify patterns and triggers that affect their health, and open up opportunities to make adjustments to their lifestyle as seen fit. It can also serve as a source of motivation and accountability, as individuals can track their discoveries moving forward.

 

The purpose of using the HillBilly Hiking Guide and Journal is to help individuals become more self aware and move in a desired direction.  By using the HillBilly Hiking Guide and  Journal, individuals can record their experiences and wonderings.

 

The workshop will explore different ways of journey, goals, mediums, and reasons for journaling. After the session,  participants will have the opportunity to practice on the HillBilly Resort trails. 

 

Ma McLane - M.Ed. (Counselling Psych), B.Ed., B.A. (Psych) Post-Bac (Sp. Ed) will be available for support, if required.

What should I bring for a HillBilly Resort experience?

We recommend bringing sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, water, food, blanket, lawn chair, whatever you need to feel comfortable, and a sense of adventure. Your may want to bring ways to record your experience and/or thoughts-paints, canvas, journal-markers, crayons, pen etc. We'll take care of the rest!. 

Are the hillbilly mindfulness retreats suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Our hillbilly mindfulness retreats are designed for individuals of all experience levels, including beginners. Our expert guides will ensure a supportive and enriching experience for all participants.
